Houston Halloween Show and Sick Day with Kat 1/26/09

Hey guys- it’s Kat.  I just got back from the Houston Halloween show this weekend.  I ordered TONS of new Halloween costumes for 2010…and also brought back a serious head cold.  Mega Lame!  Any hizzle, the show was HUGE.  Just when I think I have seen it all….I see a slutty Ninja Turtle costume.  I love my job!

I’m really excited with Leg Avenue’s line this year, and I’m noticing a lot of things I like from Disguise (a company I personally have not dealt  with before).  My favorite costume so far?  The White Rabbit from Leg Avenue.  See below:

Seriously- I can’t.  This is the cutest thing I have ever seen.  This amongst many others.  Not only costumes, but we went nuts ordering new shoes and boots and matching stockings and accessories.  We are trying to figure out how to magically grow our store wall space to fit it all….any thoughts?

So, all the costumes are coming mid-July.  I’m planning a Halloween in July party so we all have an excuse to dress up in our costumes from last year one more time.  What do you guys think?  Suggestions always welcome, of course :)

Valentine’s Day for All- by Alex 1/26/10

Once again the rain falls. It has been quite a month for everyone in Cali, there was flooding and a tornado. There was rain, snow, and even hail! That was pretty crazy, but the sky has never looked so clear, and the mountains, which are visible now, look absolutely beautiful, it really makes me want to go up there, and I know everyone heard about that poor dog too! How sweet was that rescuer? Overall things are going well here, February is coming up which means Valentines Day will soon be here to invade stores and corner stands all over the place! Were going to be getting a lot of really cute stuff in too, and if you’ve seen our everyday uniforms, just wait till you see the new ones! I’m trying to figure out what it is I’m going to do with my Muffin ahead of time, I’m thinking something sexy and sweet. I have a few ideas to choose from.

Don’t Wait Till The Last Minute for V-Day- 1/24/10

HOLLA! Tis I, the pinkerful wizard of…of… Pure Delish?… that was really lame…I know.

So as I mentioned in my last post…The Day Of Hearts looms upon us.  You ever notice what a last minute holiday it is?  People plan for Halloween in August, Thanksgiving on Halloween, Christmas the day after Thanksgiving and New Years on Christmas day.  Yet when it comes to Valentines Day, rather than buy stock on February 1st, I find that 98% of the population storms the front the morning, afternoon, and evening of February 14.  I remember when I was in elementary school, we would have the little bags at our desk and everyone brought in candy and cards for everyone, then middle school hit where it wasn’t required to give valentines to everyone…just the people you liked, 6th grade was the year I stopped giving out valentines…I’ll leave whatever reason that was up to you.  But the point is, I remember the morning of February 14th every year in elementary school, it was a mad rush to the grocery store with my mom on the way to school to pick up a pack of cards and those cheap valentine candies that are the norm in grade school valentine paper bags.  How sad is it that even an 8 year old is last minute-ing Valentines Day?

So this year, why don’t you get a head start?  Come on in and buy some pretty underthings to share with your special someone.  Or get some edible decorating kits, you know, stuff like whipped cream ($13), Chocolate Body Topping ($12), or the Body Icing Kit ($32) so you can turn your lover into a human ice cream sundae, or a human cake; but don’t eat your lover, because that would make you, you know, a cannibal, and nobody likes a cannibal.

February 14th 2010 is also Chinese New Year, so if your Roman New Years didn’t go so well, you’ve got another chance to dress up all nice in something red (it’s a lucky color) and paint the town brown or some such thing, however the saying goes.  And (ignore the fact I just started a sentence with ‘and’) just for you folks who might screw it up on Chinese New Year, and I mean that in the best way possible, nothing to say you would screw anything up, just saying if it doesn’t go as well as you wanted…well…Persian New Year is in March, so you can start your year all over again!

Valentine’s Day Lessons by Roscoe 1/10/10

HEY Y’ALL!…Happy one more year closer to the end of the world…2012 that is…Perhaps I believe in it, perhaps I don’t, it really doesn’t matter because I celebrate Chinese New Year anyway… … … and Persian New Year as a matter of fact.

It’s a gorgeous sunny Sunday afternoon, perfect beach weather… :[      So, I really don’t know what to write about today, I’m just taking a break from inventory right now…it makes my eyes and shoulders hurt…all that hunched over looking at the screen business, but someone’s gotta do it… or perhaps I should stop slouching, that would help a lot too.

I hear that Valentine’s Day is coming up. Did you know in Korea, Japan and Taiwan, only boys receive chocolates from girls on V-day?  What about the girls you ask?  Well they receive their gifts and chocolates from the boys on March 14th, also known as White Day.  Then for all the single folk (like me) there exists a Black Day on April 14th where the singles gather and eat noodles with black bean sauce called ja-jang-myeon…which actually happens to be one of my absolute favorite dishes, and I’m craving it right now because I’m hungry…I’m always hungry.

Black Day is more my thing, I’ve always been a member of the Anti-Valentines Day club…but then again I’m perpetually single.  As a Feminist, I also do V-day, which is on February 14th but is a day of empowerment for women and pretty much every feminist organization puts on a showing of the Vagina Monologues.  Getting back to Valentines Day, I think my problem is that I’m always single so that’s why I don’t celebrate it…ever.  This year however is going to be different, I have FOUR Valentines this year.  Yup!  Their names are Liz, Alex, Kat and Jeremiah!  You all know the first three, the last one is a good buddy of mine who is also going to be everyone else’s Valentine.  Hello Kitty Chocolates and Candy for everyone!

The Tenga Egg 1/4/10

It’s Alex again. Hope all is well with everyone.

It’s a slow Monday and a tumble weed just rolled by. So far not many have stepped into Pure Delish, and I’m really hoping for some company soon :) There were a few visitors earlier, and as usual they loved the store! It’s funny because they live in the area and haven’t noticed us! It’s great to see how excited people get when they come in. Even I still get excited when I’m fixing up the racks, or looking at the stockings, I just recently got some stockings and I love them, Roscoe turned me into a stocking lover! I’m getting more today hehe. :P

So I was on our website browsing around looking through some of the shoes and I found the cutest stilettos! They were in black, red, white, rose pink, baby blue, and hot pink, so adorable! I’m planning on getting them all, except the black ones since I have a pair already. We’re always getting so many things in I love it, it’s like a surprise every time I come in. It’s a surprise for our customers too, each time we come in its different, they always tell me. It’s true we’ve gone through many changes here! Our dressing rooms have changed a great deal, so have our walls, during Halloween our walls were covered in costumes, petticoats (tutus) and accessories. Our shoe’s weren’t as many as they are now either, we even have a wall dedicated to toys, when in the beginning it was but a round table holding only a few vibrators and of course rabbits. Our toys have definitely expanded, we also have a few more male masturbators as well, I’ll tell you a little more about one specific one we have that’s gotten quite popular! It’s called the Tenga Egg, and it comes in a small palm sized “egg shell” this product is made of 100% silicone so it’s very soft and squishy, there are six different textures and the textures are shown outside around the wrapping, they all have different names as well, like Spider, Silky, Twister, Wavy, Clicker, and Stepper. The great thing about this little egg is that you and your partner can use it together, which is always a great experience!

Its 8:20 and I just got a prank phone call which is pretty hilarious if you ask me!

Other than that it’s been a pretty average day here at Pure Delish, I’ll be closing up soon and as soon as I’m done I’m going to try on a few things! I’m not leaving empty handed today!

New Year, New Merchandise 1/2/10

Meow! It’s me Alex saying hello again!

This year has gone by so fast I can’t believe it’s already 2010! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year! I know I did, I got to spend Christmas with family, and my muffin of course. We had such a blast here at Pure Delish for our Christmas party, for those of you who showed up you know what I’m talking about! We had some sexy performances on the pole for everyone to enjoy, and of course our oh-so popular and delicious penis cookies and yummy cupcakes. December was such a blast. New Years was fun as well, we celebrated and had lots of fun, and for the first day of the year I stayed home, watched anime all day and cuddled with my cat.

So what is everyone’s New Year resolution?

Mine is to just keep moving forward, keep working harder, and just enjoy life! I have such great memories of 09, moving into a tiny apartment, meeting all sorts of new people, and writing in a fanzine! Getting to work for Kat, working with Roscoe and Liz has been great we all help each other stay on top. I feel like this year is going to be much better than the last, it also kind of feels like this year is going to go by really fast too. There’s a lot going on for me though, I’ll be going to Georgia for a while, my cousin is getting married and he goes straight into the army a week later! Then after that I start college! I’ll still be here of course. I don’t think I could ever leave Pure Delish.

With a new year always comes more new stuff and sales!

All of our Christmas items are 50% off we have sale racks for $10, $20, and $30, and $5 costumes! Don’t forget about our super cheap stockings either guys, we just got some in. I wore a pair for New Years :) So why go anywhere else when you can get them for much much much cheaper! Roscoe turned me into a stocking lover…

I can’t wait to see what we get for Valentines Day either! We’ve already gotten a ton of stuff in for this year, we have some new corsets, more sexy lingerie, bathing suits, really sexy dresses perfect for a night out, and more penis pops too.

New Year’s Thoughts with Liz 1/2/10

Hey everyone its Liz, the day we were all waiting for passed New Years. How’s everyone’s New Year going? Mine is great- couldn’t have started better. New years mean new beginnings and I am excited for some change to happen…definitely time for some change.  But as we all say goodbye to 2009, think about the year, how fast it went, what happened…. possible life changing stuff…? But most important think of the fun, great, exciting times.  For me, in 2009, Pure Delish opened and I met the craziest person I know- the owner Kat.   Then I got a job here and met Roscoe and Alex- the two greatest co-workers anyone can ask for.  They definitely keep you on your toes.  That, I will have to say, was my highlight of 09.  As we bring in 2010, a year that A LOT of people are excited for (I know I am), think about certain things like what would you like to change in your life- do u want to have a new years resolution, do you even want to change anything in your life? I know I am ready for some change because to me change is a great thing keeps things spicyyy. But most of all I think this year is going to be great so don’t let anything get you down.  It’s a New Year anything can happen. But most of ,I hope you all had a fun way to bring in the New Year- I had a blast! Finally, hope you have a great, fun new year. 2010 wooooo :D <3 oh and it’s a new year so come on down we got a bunch of new things of course I want to buy them all haha and its 50% off all Christmas stuff (what a steal) so come on down so we can wish u a HAPPY NEW YEARS. Holidays and Swimwear with Roscoe 12/26/09

Happy Winter Solstice…Happy Kwanzaa…Happy Chanukah…Happy Holidays…and Merry Christmas…or as Cleveland Brown would say… “Murray Chriss-Muss” (If you don’t watch “The Cleveland Show” you wont get it…or you might not even if you do watch).

So it’s another day here at Pure Delish…another COLD day.  You would think that having lived in New York I’d be used to cold weather…I mean I just got back from Big Bear and it was SNOWING.  But alas – I don’t enjoy cold weather, I mean I prefer a cool breeze rather than sweating…because as much as I don’t like being cold…I DESPISE being hot and sweaty.  I think I need to live on the beach or in a padded room because California weather, 75% of the time doesn’t agree with me…but that doesn’t really make sense either because… wait…where was I going with this? … … …

Oh Yeah!  So I’m not the biggest fan of numb fingers and goose pimples… however… one opportunity cold weather offers is the chance to wear really cute jimmies and cuddle up with your sweetheart with a mug of cocoa or eggnog or wear a slinky piece of negligee and cuddle up with … other stuff.

Personally, I’m a fan of the cuddly stuff.  Don’t get me wrong…I have my share of sexy, slinky, barely there under things; but get me into a leopard fleece robe with footies ($70) and matching bottoms ($42) and I turn into a kitten…literally…all cuddly and junk…and I’m really not a big fan of the mushy stuff so I guess it’s a testament to the power of soft and cuddly pajamas.

So I hope all of you had a great holiday, whichever one you celebrate.  I bought a leopard print bikini from the store and the zebra print one of my Bestie forever, because she and I are leopard and zebra respectively. … … … yeah…we’re odd…we always get new swimwear in the winter for the coming summer…and then there was the time when we used to go to the beach during the winter…straight up in the middle of January…and no, it was not a warm winter…but she swore it would make a difference in our base tan come summer…except I don’t like being tan…so going “sunbathing” in the winter made perfect sense…I totally enjoy being pale…really really really pale… … …

Christmas Eve @ Pure Delish 12/24/09

Hey Everyone! This Is Liz Again.

Its Christmas Eve and semi cold but it doesn’t matter because I couldn’t be happier then I am this lovely day.  I hope all of you out there have finished the last of your Christmas  shopping I know I haven’t oopps….but if not you should come down and look at what we got. We just got in a bunch of new stuff that’s really cute, you could get something for that special someone at this special time of the year because it only comes once a year. You could even make yourself his present… we have some funny stuff here. But that’s not all that matters I hope you all see your loved ones and have a lovely Christmas and a great new years and hope you all get great presents because I know I did- I am sneaky I cant help it I wanted to know what I got :] (but I am still going to act surprised because my mom doesn’t know I know what she got me haha ).  Today we close early, so if you need that last minute Christmas gift get your butt down here.  For those of you who have been here and know what this store is about, you will have a great time.  Remember, its Christmas… anything can happen so any of you who are bummed this day put a smile on your face because miracles do happen… I know from this morning haha. Alex’s First Impressions of Pure Delish 12/13/09

Hello all! :) My name is Alex, I remember the day I first laid eyes on Pure Delish I absolutely fell in love!

I was sitting on the bus with two friends and as the bus stopped the doors opened to reveal the cutest Halloween costumes sitting in a window draped in pink and blue fabric, I gasped and yelled “We have to get off, now!” So my two confused friends and I ran out and looked at these adorable Alice in Wonderland costumes. The door was closed, but a lovely lady with pink hair opened the door, gave us a little peak and handed us some flyers for the grand opening. As you can guess that lovely lady was Kat!

The grand opening was of course, grand, we got goodie bags with vibrators, lube, and of course penis cookies and cupcakes. That day I got myself a pair of sexy stockings, and the next day I came back in and got a feather. I remember that day I left Kat my info since I was looking for a job, the next day she called me in for an interview and I excitedly and anxiously got ready and left. I was nervous but Kat being the sweat heart she is I relaxed instantly. So ever since then I’ve been here, and I have to say it was been a wonderful experience that I want to keep experiencing. At first it was a bit difficult, and it still is at times, but I keep pushing myself to work harder and keep the customers happy. That’s one of the things I love about working here, the customer service is great, and it’s something that I feel strongly about, I love being there for customers, I love greeting them, and it makes me so happy knowing that they’re happy.

So today as I’m typing this I’m recalling some really fun memories, like the time we had a bachelorette party, oh man was that a night, the girls had so much fun celebrating their friends last night as a single lady, it was so fun for everyone even us, especially watching them learn sexy moves from Kitty Cadillac(Burlesque Dancer). And also our Halloween party that was tons of fun too, we had so many people in the store, and just like the grand opening we had a wonderful fashion show.

I remember during Halloween, this girl came in, she looked overwhelmed and very shy, I asked her what I could help her with and she said she never dresses up for Halloween but her girlfriends talked her into it this year so here she was. She was interested in the Snow White costume, we got her to try on several costumes but the winner was definitely Snow White, she got the petticoat, shoes, stockings, purse the whole shebang. I remember at the end of the night she was talking to Kat, Jen and I about how helpful we had been, and she looked so pleased and happy to have a costume that looked so gorgeous, cute, and sexy on her, the most amazing part of that night was how she opened up to us and then we all just opened up to each other, telling stories about lost loves and relationships and giving each other advice. This day has such a special place in my heart and every time I think about it I realize why I’m here and why I am the way I am.

For me this is where I feel I should be, every time I get up to come here I have a smile on my face, even if I’m tired or if it’s a bad day as soon as I come in everything is perfect. It’s like Liz said, we are all so different, but we’re like a family, always talking to each other, laughing, making jokes, sharing stories or just talking to let some frustration out. I love working here at Pure Delish and I’m so grateful and happy to have landed in such a welcoming atmosphere. There’s so much more I could say about this place and all the lovely ladies but I’ll save it for next time.

Why go anywhere else when you can come into Pure Delish and be greeted by smiling faces! We have something for everyone here, from sweet and shy to naughty or nice. We welcome all of you to come down, and to all the guys, we’ll help you find a great gift for your cupcake. Plus who can resist such reasonable prices!
